Thai Cooking Course: Popular, Authentic Thai Cuisine 

Course Description: Learn Thai cooking in a professional studio with Jeannine Law-Smith, an experienced cooking teacher.  In this 2-part course, you’ll learn about traditional Thai spices and ingredients, make a curry paste, create delicious appetizers and a salad, and simmer bananas for an easy and tasty dessert.  Recipes will be provided, so you can recreate these popular and authentic dishes at home.  Lunch is included.

 

Class dates and Menus:

Class 1 Menu: Phad Thai, Chicken satays, and Bananas in Coconut Cream.

Cooking Techniques: This class will focus on learning how to use rice noodles for Phad Thai, make tamarind juice, marinate chicken using common Thai spices, and simmer bananas for an easy and delicious dessert.

Time: 10:30 am – 1:30 pm

 

Class 2 Menu: Golden bags with Dipping Sauce, Panang Curry with Beef, Cabbage Salad, and Rice.

Cooking Techniques: This class will focus on learning how to prepare and fry Golden bags filled with pork and seasonings, pound Panang Curry paste, and make a salad based on fish sauce, fried shallots, and cabbage.

Instructor:

Jeannine Law-Smith is originally from the US and has lived in Asia for 15 years.  While in Asia, she was able to learn Thai and Vietnamese cuisine from top cooking schools in different regions of Thailand and Vietnam.  In Singapore, she taught Thai and Vietnamese Cuisine at The Pantry Cookery School in Loewen Gardens, and now enjoys teaching at Michiko Selection Cooking Studio.  Her classes focus on authentic, popular dishes that you can easily recreate at home.
