Thursday, September 14, 2017 and Thursday, October 19, 2017 Japanese Course: Healthy Fish Cuisine

Course Description: Tired of wondering what to do with the large variety of fish available at the supermarkets? Michiko Matsuda, an experienced cooking teacher, will show you four different ways of preparing fish easily found in local supermarkets. You will learn how to make Japanese teriyaki sauce with swordfish, salted grilled mackerel, salmon with miso sauce, clean and cut an octopus, make Aemono (vegetable with a salad dressing), sautee burdock, and wash and cook rice. Recipes will be provided, so you can recreate these stylish and easy Japanese dishes at home. Lunch is included.
Class dates and Menus:
Class 1 September Menu: Teriyaki swordfish (kajiki maguro) on skewers, mizuna in wasabi and seaweed sauce (aemono), salted grilled mackerel (shio saba) with ground daikon (radish), and rice
Class 2 October Menu: Octopus appetizer (tako sunomono), sauteed burdock (kinpira), salmon with miso sauce (sake misoyaki), rice
